Words remaining = target − current. We count calendar days from today through the deadline, multiply by your writing days per week ÷ 7, and round the available writing days down. Daily target = remaining words ÷ estimated writing days, rounded up.
Why this way?
You only tell us how many days per week you write, not which weekdays. So the exact schedule is unknowable. We round the weekly-proportion estimate down and the word target up. If fewer than one writing day remains, there is no daily target to calculate. Your actual weekday schedule may give a different number of sessions.
