SERIES READ-THROUGH

Where are your readers wandering off?

Compare sales counts, or use a tracked reader cohort to measure continuation. Sales ratios help you spot questions; they do not identify which people read the next book.

Use comparable counts. Even in the same reporting window, sales may come from different readers.

What numbers should I use?

A tracked cohort follows the same readers from book to book. Store sales totals usually do not do that. Matched reporting windows still mix readers at different stages; lifetime totals also favour books published earlier.

This is a diagnostic, not a verdict. Release dates, promotions, price changes and incomplete series can all distort read-through.
